SPAIN RETREAT 2023: INTERPRETER TRAINING
MAY 21 – 27, 2023

The program is scheduled to give participants structured classroom activities, group tours as well as FREE time to visit the Monasterio de San Lorenzo, Valle de Los Caidos, Avila, hike the surrounding mountains, or jump on the bus to Madrid and explore the hidden treasures of the capital city on your own. 

Day 1 – Sunday May 21, 2023 

9:00 am – 2:00 pm	ARRIVAL
2:30 pm	Welcome Lunch and Orientation at the Hotel Florida
4:00 pm	Group Walking tour of San Lorenzo de El Escorial / FREE TIME
Evening	Dinner at hotel or on your own

Day 2 – Monday May 22, 2023

8:00 – 9:00 am	Breakfast at Hotel
9:30 am	Meet in Hotel Lobby and walk to University
10:00 am – 2:00 pm	Guest Speakers – Palabras Mayores: Lengua Precisa, Distintas variantes del español y Dudas lingüistas
2:00 pm	Lunch at Hotel or on your own
4:00  – 8:00 pm	Class: Organization of the Spanish Court System

10:00 am – 2:00  pm	Class: Spanish Civil Law vs US Common Law + Legalization of Documents + Sight Translation SPA > ENG

4:00  – 8:00 pm	Class: Judge’s Rulings – An in-depth study  + Consecutive Practice

11:45 pm – 1:15 pm	Guest Speaker: Chief Inspector of Madrid Organized Crime
